Hear Us Out – Here’s Why You Need CELEBRATE SOUND!

March 27, 2017

Want to be a part of an amazing national fund and awareness-raising event that helps promote hearing health in our communities? Join Sertoma in giving the gift of sound. Host a CELEBRATE SOUND Don’t Walk in Silence® event today!

CELEBRATE SOUND is a turnkey fundraising project that allows your community to come together to raise funds and awareness for your organization and Sertoma. With more than 50 million people living with hearing loss, it is critical to educate our communities on issues like noise-induced hearing loss.

When you partner with Sertoma, your local organization will receive 50% of the net income to go to a local cause of your choosing. Sertoma will give their portion to the Annual Fund that supports grants and scholarships.  Sertoma provides the planning manual, publicity/marketing materials (banners, signs, posters, etc.), liability insurance, an event website that tracks donations and registrants and more!

If you choose to do an event and are one of the first 25 events for the 2017 calendar year, you will receive from our national CELEBRATE SOUND sponsor, Cochlear, $200 toward your half of the proceeds, free earplugs and more!

Learn more by contacting us at infosertoma@sertomahq.org to request an event agreement.

  • Cheryl Pence says:

Question on “the first 25 events” — does that mean the first 25 events officially scheduled, or the first 25 HELD during 2017? And then the $200 from Cochlear means we would get half the proceeds (as usual), PLUS $200? Thanks for clarifying this.

    • Merritt Whitley says:

      Hi Cheryl,

Great question. The first 25 events refers to those that are scheduled in the 2017 calendar year. The $200 that is provided by Cochlear will help pay for some of the upfront costs of the event, essentially saving you these funds. In the end, you will still receive half of the event’s proceeds. If you have additional questions please let us know! Thanks for taking an interest in CELEBRATE SOUND!

Can you tell me what year the Great Plains Regional Convention was held in Rapid City?

    • Merritt Whitley says:

      Hi Shirley,

Great question. We searched back through our records and were not able to find the information you’re looking for. Therefore, we would suggest contacting your Region’s secretary.

Please let us know if you have additional questions.
