Become an Early Bird!
October 30, 2019
Service to Mankind. These are the words that make our Sertoma name powerful as it encapsulates what our 300+ clubs do for their communities across North America. Our goal is to serve and pave the way for generations to come, and our Annual Fund allows us to expand our hearing health mission and to do so at the national level.
The Annual Fund helps Sertoma clubs across the country serve their communities by providing effective and educational programs.
This is accomplished through programs such as SAFEEars!®, our noise induced hearing prevention program. This program can be presented at schools, workplaces, health fairs and more. Additionally, we offer A Sound Investment, which helps individuals advocate for induction looping in buildings within their communities.
Our Adopt-An-Agency grant program is supported by the Annual Fund, and helps clubs bring services and funds to their communities. In the 2019 grant cycle, we awarded $88,273 in Community Grants and $6,617 in Professional Education Grants. These grants provide life changing hearing health services, equipment, education and advancement opportunities.
We are able to serves university students across the United States by funding two scholarships.
- Hard of Hearing and Deaf scholarship, which helps deaf and hard of hearing college students complete their bachelor’s degrees.
- Communicative Disorders scholarship, which helps graduate students achieve their dream of becoming an audiologist or speech language pathologist.
