Welcome to Sertoma, Brandi!

September 5, 2019

Brandi McGrath Kong is Sertoma’s newest team member and Member Services Manager!

In this membership focused position, she will be responsible for developing strategic initiatives and programs focused on membership recruitment, retention, engagement, club building and more. In addition, she will serve as the primary liaison to the Training Specialists.

In total, Brandi brings 15 years of nonprofit management experience, with an emphasis in membership and communications to our organization.

Before beginning her Sertoma journey, she studied public relations at the University of Central Missouri, and spent nearly ten years working at the National Auctioneers Association (NAA). At NAA, she managed their membership team, as well as their philanthropic partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and their national advocacy program.

Brandi is thrilled to be at Sertoma, and is looking forward to continually building and growing relationships with Sertomans!

“I am so excited to meet and work with Sertomans from all around the country,” Brandi said. “Membership is the lifeblood of an organization like this, and getting to know the people in the field who make Sertoma’s mission possible will help me better understand the challenges and opportunities they face.”

When Brandi is not working, you can find her spending time with her family or exploring! She has been married to her husband Scott for five years, and is a proud aunt to their two nephews and one niece. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, yoga, music and supporting the Kansas City Chiefs.

    Welcome Brandi.

  • Harold says:

Anything new in the way of recruiting members? Our club is at a standstill. Mostly retired gentlemen getting older.

    • Merritt Whitley says:

      Hi Harold,

Great question. We are working to develop new training information to assist with club recruitment and retention efforts. Please stay tuned as this information will be shared upon completion in the coming months!

In the meantime, I have included a link below that includes our current recruitment manual and tools to assist. Our publicity section can also be helpful in spreading the word, as it allows you to connect with your community and the press. The more you share what your club is doing, the more likely you are to spark interest, engagement and the desire of others to get involved!

If you have additional questions, or would like more tips after clicking the link below, please contact me directly at mwhitley@sertomahq.org. Always happy to help!
