Don’t Forget to Update Your Browser!

For anyone who  uses a computer,  tablet, or smart phone, it is no surprise that change is a constant occurrence. Security changes are probably one of the most important parts that affect our favorite programs, apps, websites, and browsers. Some changes occur without notice, but other changes are not so stealthy.

By June 30, 2018, the PCI Security Standards Council will require all Internet-based programs to upgrade to a higher protocol level of encryption. If a website or app does not upgrade to the higher security, portions may no longer function correctly.

Providers will implement the changes according to the new PCI compliance rules. In order to access and use these updated websites and apps, individuals need to make sure the internet browsers and apps they use are running the most recent version. We are sharing this information with you now in an effort to help smooth the transition. If you have questions about how to check your browser’s version or an app’s version, a quick online search is often helpful, or you can contact the product’s help line.

Sertoma’s various websites have several providers, each of whom is currently going through the update process to comply with the security guidelines prior to the June deadline. Our host providers want us to share this important security information with you so you have ample time to take the necessary steps for the technology you use.

As the deadline draws closer, we will remain vigilant to ensure Sertoma’s websites are functioning properly and will stay in contact with our providers when needed. Updates to browsers and apps, along with functionality of any personal technology used to access a Sertoma site is the sole responsibility of the individual.

    When I try to log in it says access denied. Doesn’t accept my password.

      Have you tried clicking the forgotten password option? In this case, it may be best to change your password. We are able to look up the usernames of individuals, but for privacy purposes, we have no access to passwords.
